The Joker versus Anime

Poor Joker. Harley Quinn has succumbed to the anime virus, and it's up to him to save her from living her life with eyes the size of softballs.

This was another one of those crack ideas that just jumps out at me when my sleep schedule is a little weird. Truth be told, there's a little personal history behind this: I started drawing in the anime style, when I was thirteen or fourteen, and have slowly been making my way back towards realism ever since. Drawing Harley as an anime character (specifically based on magical girl/Sailor Moon style) was a weird kind of throwback for me, and it reminded me why I wish I'd started with realism: learning anime first taught me sloppy habits, leaving me to learn the fundamentals of drawing all out of order.

The Joker here is drawn in a mixed cartoon style, using references from Batman & Robin Adventures #1 and Batman Adventures #3, specifically the story "My Boyfriend's Back."
